Flip House on Sixth

We went shopping this weekend and found some great bargains for the house. We got a stainless flattop electric stove for $398 and a fridge for $478. We found some beautiful glass mosaic tiles for the backsplash for $3/sq ft... which is super duper cheap! So the kitchen is just about done as far as "planning" goes. Now we just have to execute it. The living room has paneling over plaster.. I was just going to paint it all, but have decided to sheetrock instead. Lots more work, but much much nicer finished product. Our biggest dilemma is the bathroom. It's so tiny, and configured so poorly. We looked for a shorter tub this weekend and much to our surprise they are almost twice as much in price as the 60" ones. How stupid is that?? I'm not sure how we will proceed, but I'll keep you up to date as we move forward. Until then....

New Flip

We signed the papers yesterday, so it's official. We bought another house. It's a 3 bedroom (if you can call them bedrooms) 1 bath house. It was horribly neglected and needs much TLC, elbow grease, bleach and other help too numerous to mention here. As always, I'll keep any of you that are even mildly interested abreast of the progress.

We are leaving for the holiday weekend, so we won't get much done in the next couple of days, but Michael is heading over this morning to put some heat on and do some preliminary cleaning. He's so sweet. He knows I have trouble with bodily fluids, so he'll remove that before I have to go in there. Some of it is spider and bug shit... and some might be human! Yikes!

My plan is to do the kitchen in white and granny apple green... we'll see if that color is too overpowering though. The dining area I'm thinking a blue/green/grey color and probably will use that in the living room too. I need some inspiration on a bathroom color. It's very small and very dark... so it needs to be jazzed up.

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, one with a skylight. I want to stage one of the rooms as a nursery, but will stick with a neutral paint color, and the other room is the master, so I'll paint that something modern and fun. Not sure what, yet!

Photo's, color palettes, countertop and mosaic tile samples to come soon!! Stay tuned!
