Whew! Yesterday we spent the day with Parker (yay) and had some professional newborn photo's taken, so no work on the house, AGAIN! But today we are going to kick butt. We ordered some white wood blind for the living/dining room and they look really nice. We also placed the countertops but they still need to be fastened and a hole for the kitchen sink needs to be cut. Somehow we lost the template or it was never sent... so we have to wing it. Yikes!
More to come....
Finished!! Well, we need to grout, but we are t i r e d!

Parker Larsen, You aren't helping this flipping process at all! ;-)
Parker Michael Larsen was born on July 17th at 6:44 p.m. and I haven't gotten a thing done since! I just stare at my computer screen at pictures of you. You are so beautiful! And a wee bit grumpy looking here...
So, we are going to have a photographer take your newborn photos this weekend AND we are going to install the kitchen countertops, mosaic backsplash, sink, and hopefully dishwasher. That will make Grandma's life a lot easier, and it will give us a place to give you your bath when you're visiting, which I hope is often!
So watch for some photo's of the completed kitchen and perhaps a few of Parker. I know, but I can't help myself ok???

I thought I'd just put up some of the before and after photo's thus far. The afters aren't even at completion, but there is a big difference....

Can't think of a catchy title...
Lovely Drawer pulls....
Ah, where to start. Brand new appliances are being delivered on Friday. Gotta love that! I could be cooking, refrigerating and dishwashing by mid July! Nice!
This week we are going to finish up the little things downstairs and move on up. My goal is to have it finished by the 2nd week in August. Then we'll move outside to the garage and deck.
Last night we did the front entry in Dura Ceramic. Michael said it was an easy peasy job. We started at 6 pm and didn't finish until 9. That's not easy to me. 45 minutes is easy. 3 hours, not so much. But it's done.
Now we just have to put up the base and we'll be done. For those of you that don't know what Dura Ceramic is, it is a vinyl tile that "looks" like ceramic and can be grouted or not. It is very durable and easy to clean. It's also a floating floor, so the subfloor doesn't have to be perfect and it can be installed over the existing floor, such as the not so lovely self stick tiles that are in the first picture. Gotta love that!

Happy Independence Day
It's been over 100 here for a couple of days, so work has been minimal. It's all I can do to take a shower... let alone lift a hammer or paint brush. I did manage to paint the bathroom door. OH I forgot to tell you, we NOW have a bathroom door! No door knob, but that's just a minor detail.
I don't think I posted a photo of the offending light fixture... here it is.
And this is the dura ceramic that is going in the entry. I wish I had enough to do the kitchen. It's really pretty, although this photo doesn't really do it justice at all.
Michael and I are taking the day off to do the 4th of July parade and then we work the rest of the week, so I don't know if any more will get done. We really need to wait until this heat wave is over to move operations upstairs. We'd die up there right now. But as always, if I pound a nail, you'll be the first to know ;-)

Baby it's HOT inside....
Wow! It's Hot. 85 degrees outside feels nice, but inside... not so much. We have a little window air conditioner, but it's in the big room that is all windows so it really has to work to keep up with the heat.
We got the second bedroom painted (finished) and carpeted yesterday. It looked so much better just putting the pad down! And the carpet made it look fantastic.
I picked out the flooring for the front entry and the upstairs bathroom yesterday. Both are dura ceramic that we had in stock and they are both going to look very pretty. We also will attempt to put the cabinet handles on today. There is NO room for error on this, so I hope we are up to the task. They not only have to be level and even with each other, but level and even from an uneven floor.... yikes.
We are also putting the "flip furniture" in the living room today and moving the futon into that second bedroom along with Parker's bassinet. I want that room ready for the babe as soon as he's ready to visit. Due date in 22 days but I'm pretty sure he'll be he sooner. He tried to make an appearance June 19th.. but we shall see.
I am going to order the fridge, dishwasher and microwave tomorrow, and hopefully it will be here in a couple of weeks. That will basically complete the downstairs. We will still have to carpet the big "sunroom" but that will be at the very end since we are using it as our construction room.
Upstairs... tear down bathroom wall-build new wall and install shower-paint (still haven't picked out a color but leaning towards a soft gray)-build closet-build railing-carpet- done. It doesn't sound like much really, but if it's hot, it's gonna be REALLY hot up there!
